Islamabad, Dec 18: On Wednesday, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), under the directives of Director General Kinza Murtaza, sealed 15 flats and a restaurant in the Mid-City Apartments on Old Airport Road.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the enforcement team carried out the operation in Moza Gangal on Old Airport Road, targeting illegal commercial use of residential flats within the Mid-City Apartments.
The crackdown was initiated to address the unauthorized conversion of residential properties into commercial spaces, which is a violation of RDA regulations prohibiting such practices in residential zones.
The operation was overseen by Director Land RDA Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Building Superintendent Fahad Bhatti, and Building Surveyor Malik Aamir Mahmood.
This action is part of RDA’s ongoing efforts to enforce zoning laws and protect the residential character of neighborhoods in Rawalpindi. The RDA remains committed to ensuring compliance with approved land use and building regulations within the city.
The spokesperson added that the DG has instructed authorities to continue the operations and take strict measures against those violating the rules.
