Islamabad, 22 March 2025: The Real Kabaddi League (RKL) has announced that its Season 4 Selection Trials will begin in April 2025.
The trials will take place across more than ten states in India, aiming to identify and nurture emerging kabaddi players.
This initiative provides talented athletes with an opportunity to showcase their skills and secure professional contracts for the Dubai International edition.
The selection process will cover key kabaddi hubs, including Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
By conducting trials in these regions, RKL aims to ensure wider participation in India’s expanding professional kabaddi scene.
As part of the player development initiative, the top 15 players from the trials will receive a retainer amount of ₹60,000.
Additionally, they will have a chance to enter the Real Kabaddi League Player & Auction draft, where contracts of up to ₹1,00,000 may be secured.
The best-performing players will also earn a direct spot in the Dubai International edition, allowing them to test their skills at an international level.
Shubham Choudhary, Founder and CEO of RKL, emphasized that the league’s vision has always been to highlight talent from rural India and offer players the same level of recognition as mainstream sports.
He stated that Season 4 would enhance player development programs and provide more exposure, making kabaddi a viable career option.
Supporting the initiative, Rannvijay Singha, the league’s ambassador, noted that RKL is more than just a tournament—it is a platform to uplift grassroots sports.
He expressed excitement about the upcoming season, highlighting the passion and dedication of the players.
Since its launch, RKL has played a crucial role in discovering and promoting kabaddi talent from remote areas.
The league’s growth reflects the increasing popularity of kabaddi as a professional sport in India and beyond.
