Islamabad, June 30, 2025: Diljit Dosanjh’s latest Punjabi film, Sardaar Ji 3, has smashed box office records in Pakistan, collecting $500,000 on its opening day. Released on June 27, 2025, it now holds the title for the highest first-day collection by any Indian film in the country, surpassing Salman Khan’s Sultan.
Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Pakistan’s Hania Aamir, the action-comedy opened to packed cinemas across Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Despite rising ticket prices and fewer operational screens, Sardaar Ji 3 drew massive crowds, especially in Punjab, where the audience strongly supports Punjabi-language films.
This strong debut also makes Sardaar Ji 3 the third-highest opening for any Punjabi movie globally—behind Jatt & Juliet 3 and Carry On Jatta. Experts attribute the success to its Friday release, which often sees higher footfall in theatres, with expectations that weekend numbers will climb even higher.
Producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu shared that the film faced a 40% loss in potential revenue because of a restricted international release. This contrasts with the global success of Jatt & Juliet 3, which crossed Rs 100 crore.
Despite the losses, Sidhu expressed gratitude for the international response, saying the release decision was driven by fan demand and financial recovery needs. “We are overwhelmed by the support,” he added.

Diljit Thanks Fans for Global Love
In a statement to BBC Asian Network, Diljit Dosanjh expressed pride in the team’s efforts. “A lot of people have worked hard on this film. We’re thankful for the love from Pakistan and around the world,” he said.
With this historic opening, Sardaar Ji 3 is not only redefining success for Punjabi cinema but also proving the strong cross-border appeal of regional content.
