Islamabad, April 3, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has placed a signboard renaming Arbab Niaz Stadium as Imran Khan Cricket Stadium Peshawar.
However, the official name of the iconic stadium remains unchanged.
Imran Khan, upon learning about the decision, reportedly instructed the provincial authorities to reverse the change and restore the original name of the stadium.
Despite this, the government did not comply and instead proceeded with installing the new signboard without officially modifying the stadium’s title.
Meanwhile, a PSL exhibition match, which was planned to take place at the stadium on April 8, has now been postponed. The reasons behind the delay have not been disclosed.
