Islamabad, Sep 29: Rickshaw Drivers in Punjab Can Now Easily Obtain Licenses
Rickshaw drivers in Punjab authorities have announced a dedicated day for issuing driving licenses exclusively for them. This decision was made during a meeting between the Additional IG Traffic and the Secretary of Transport.
As part of this initiative, special driving tests for rickshaw drivers will be held every Sunday at designated licensing centers throughout the province.
The Secretary of Transport stated that special counters will be set up for rickshaw drivers, and Motor Vehicle Examiners (MVEs) will be present during the driving tests.
This initiative aims to decrease traffic accidents by facilitating the licensing process, according to the Additional IG Traffic.
In a related development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has responded to the long-standing demand of overseas Pakistanis by introducing an online driving license renewal service.
According to a notification from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, overseas Pakistanis must submit a scanned copy of their passport, national identity card, expired driving license, recent medical fitness certificate, and fee challan to their respective Embassy or High Commission via email.
The embassy will then forward the application to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police’s office through official email channels.
