Islamabad, Aug 22: Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to the US, took up his new role on Wednesday and declared that his main goals would be to fortify economic connections, improve people-to-people interactions, and solidify the US-Pakistan friendship.
In his address to the mission officers, he also emphasized the value of the Pakistani community in the United States, calling them its most precious resource.
According to Ambassador Sheikh, the community was acting as a solid link in the relationship between Pakistan and the United States, and every attempt should be taken to guarantee that the community receives improved services.
The envoy emphasized the importance of pursuing goal-oriented diplomacy in this regard.
The US State Department and the Pakistani embassy met the ambassador at the airport upon his arrival in Washington on Tuesday.
