The Punjab government has already sanctioned huge investment of 20 billion rupees to carry out road construction work in Lahore under the LDA scheme of development. In order to facilitate this program, Lahore Development Authority will acquire a loan amount of 10 billion of the provincial government, which will facilitate easy financing of such large-scale development infrastructure of the city.

Such an investment is geared to improving and widening major road networks in Lahore in part to address the increasing traffic and in increasing requirements as the population of the city increases. Review of the projects was carried out in a recent meeting chaired by LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed and Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed and LDA Director General Tahir Farooq.

In the meeting, authorities also adopted the financial report, adopted changes with the building and zoning regulations and instituted fee alteration and land use modifications. Further, it was stressed that maintenance and repair of existing LDA-managed roads should be taken up to ensure that the infrastructure supports the sustainability and reliability.

Through this huge budgetary allocation, the Punjab government and the LDA are determined to upgrading the transportation system of Lahore. By improving congestion, offering quicker, safer, and convenient travel to citizens and visitors, this program of the Roads Construction in Lahore will eliminate the pain point which contributes to the current level of urbanization in Lahore.
