Islamabad, Aug 11, 205: Cristiano Ronaldo scored two but went off at the break as Almeria outclassed Al-Nassr 3-2 in an exciting first half of football on Sunday. The Portuguese star scored the opening goal in the 17 th minute after a swift move between him, Joao Felix, and Sadio Mane. Prior, Sergio Arribas had put Almeria ahead and Ronaldo scored a penalty to level the scores.

Adri Embarba emerged the star man of the hosts by scoring a better lob following an error by the goalkeeper and providing another quite soon after the rest period. Al-Nassr was unable to score an equaliser, though Mane struck the crossbar in late seconds. Inigo Martinez, another new signing, after leaving Barcelona, made his debut.

Felix also started and completed the game with Mane as both continued to seek their maiden Al-Nassr goal. The game was also Ronaldo’s third match under the new manager Jorge Jesus who had managed three consecutive victories prior to the loss.

Ronaldo has been in good form such as his recent hat-trick against Rio Ave. Following the idea of his future, Ronaldo has recently renewed its contract earlier this summer, and he now seeks to win the Saudi Pro League championship after a third-place finish last year.

Almeria vs Al-Nassr showed that he still has a scoring flair even in defeat, a quality that cannot be ignored as the five-time Champions League winner fits right into the plans of coach Jorge Jesus.
