Islamabad, June 18, 2025: Punjab’s Central Business District (CBD) has launched Route 47, a state-of-the-art roadway that now connects Gulberg to Walton in under five minutes, transforming the daily commute in Lahore’s commercial hub.

This 4.5-kilometer dual carriageway features three lanes on each side and directly links Leader Road in Gulberg with CBD Gate Walton. Built to address long-standing traffic congestion, the new route is a milestone in Lahore’s urban development.

In a ceremonial opening, CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin led a drive-through to mark the occasion. What sets Route 47 apart are its eco-friendly innovations—solar-powered lighting, a dedicated bicycle lane, and an artificial lake for sustainable water management, all reflecting the broader Green Punjab vision.

Daily travelers say the difference is remarkable—journeys that once took 20 minutes are now a breeze, completed in under five. Officials anticipate that Route 47 will not only enhance traffic flow but also boost connectivity and attract more investment into Lahore’s dynamic business district.
