The DIG Traffic Karachi, Peer Muhammad Shah, has warned that riding a motorcycle without a driving license will now lead to a fine of Rs. 20,000.
He advised all citizens to keep their licenses updated and strictly follow traffic rules, adding that no one will be exempted from penalties anymore.
According to Peer Muhammad Shah, anyone caught driving without a valid license will face a heavy challan, while the speed limit for all vehicles has been fixed at 60 km/h. He clarified that anyone exceeding this limit will be fined for overspeeding.
The warning comes as Karachi launched its faceless e-challan system, which automatically detects violations. On the first day alone, over 2,662 e-challans were issued within six hours, amounting to more than Rs. 12.5 million in fines.
