ISLAMABAD – June 2025:
The Federal Government has earmarked Rs. 7.4 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26 for a significant residential development project in Islamabad. The initiative, titled “Construction of Additional Family Suites for the Members of Parliament, including 500 Servant Quarters at G-5/2, Islamabad,” aims to enhance housing facilities for lawmakers and their support staff.

The project received formal approval from the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on February 21, 2025.

This major infrastructure initiative will feature modern residential units for parliamentarians along with 500 dedicated servant quarters, creating a more comprehensive and self-sufficient housing environment for legislators and their teams.

The development is expected to reduce the government’s reliance on private rental accommodations and hotel stays, which are commonly used due to the shortage of official housing. By consolidating housing arrangements in one location, the project promises logistical convenience and long-term cost savings for the government.

The construction at G-5/2 will not only address immediate accommodation challenges but also improve the overall infrastructure supporting legislative functions in the capital.

This move aligns with the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing facilities for elected officials while ensuring prudent utilization of public resources. Stay tuned with Bloom Pakistan
