Islamabad, Nov 29: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing new pricing policies aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion, set to launch in early 2025. These changes will include adjustments to road tolls, parking fees, and congestion pricing during events.
Salik Road Toll Pricing: Starting in January 2025, the RTA will introduce Variable Road Toll Pricing (Salik). The toll will be free from 1 am to 6 am, with a fee of Dh 6 during peak hours (6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm on weekdays). For off-peak hours (10 am to 4 pm and 8 pm to 1 am), the toll will be reduced to Dh 4. Sundays will feature a flat toll of Dh 4, with the road toll again free from 1 am to 6 am.
Variable Parking Fees: Beginning in March 2025, Variable Parking Tariffs will be introduced. Premium parking will cost Dh 6 per hour during morning (8 am to 10 am) and evening (4 pm to 8 pm) peak hours, with other parking spaces priced at Dh 4. Parking will be free at night (10 pm to 8 am) and on Sundays. Off-peak hours (10 am to 4 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm) will maintain the same rate.
Congestion Pricing: Starting in February 2025, Congestion Pricing will apply near event zones, such as around the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events. Public parking in these areas will be priced at Dh 25 per hour.
