Islamabad, Jan 25: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly finalized the national squad for the much-anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin in February. According to sources from Samaa News, the PCB has already selected eleven of the 15 players, and the same team will represent Pakistan in the upcoming Tri-Nation Series, adding to the excitement surrounding the tournament.
First Clash Set for February 19 Against New Zealand
Pakistan will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign on February 19 against New Zealand in Karachi. The squad has been submitted to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for approval, with the official announcement expected shortly.

Key Players in the Squad
The finalized squad features a blend of experienced players and promising talents. Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are among the key figures leading the charge. Abrar Ahmed will spearhead the spin attack, while the pace trio of Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi is expected to provide the necessary firepower.
Additionally, the provisional list includes Salman Ali Agha, Khushdil Shah, Kamran Ghulam, and emerging talents like Sufiyan Maqeem. Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Hasnain, and Abbas Afridi are also reportedly under consideration for a spot.
Khushdil Shah in the Spotlight
One of the standout selections is Khushdil Shah, whose stellar performances in the Bangladesh Premier League have earned him a place in the squad. His form is expected to see him replace Saim Ayub in the final lineup.
Imam-ul-Haq Likely to Make the Cut
Imam-ul-Haq appears set to be included in the squad, with his chances looking strong. Meanwhile, Shan Masood’s inclusion seems unlikely, as selectors focus on players who are best suited to the tournament’s conditions.
