Islamabad, Oct 28: Rupee Declines Against US Dollar as October’s Final Week Begins. After starting the day at 278 in the interbank market, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) saw minor declines vs the US dollar (USD).
Despite closing in red against the greenback, it remained steady throughout the day. During today’s session, it recorded gains against the majority of the other major currencies. Before closing at the 277 level, the interbank rate remained at that level for the majority of the day. Today, open market rates at several currency counters stayed between 278 and 281.
The PKR lost 20 paisas versus the US dollar today, depreciating by 0.01 percent to close at 277.68. To date, the rupee has gained 0.24 percent on a fiscal year basis. In the interbank market, the PKR was up versus the majority of other major currencies.
It lost one paisa to the UAE Dirham (AED) and one paisa to the Saudi Riyal (SAR). In the meantime, it appreciated 62 paisas versus the Canadian dollar (CAD), 83 paisas against the Australian dollar (AUD), and 14 paisas against the British pound (GBP). In today’s interbank currency market, it increased by 62 paisas in relation to the Euro (EUR).
