Islamabad, Sep 27: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) opened trading at 278 in the interbank market today, and it made gains versus the US dollar (USD) for the second day in a row. It closed the green against the greenback after remaining steady all day. During today’s session, it recorded losses compared to the majority of the other major currencies.
The interbank rate closed at 278/$, where it had spent the majority of the day. Today’s open market rates were firmly between 277 and 278 at several currency counters. The Pakistani Rupee gained five paisas versus the US dollar today, and it appreciated by 0.02 percent to settle at 277.63.
Thus far this fiscal year, the rupee has strengthened by 0.28 percent. Against the majority of the other major currencies in the interbank market today, the PKR was in the red. It gained one paisa versus the UAE Dirham (AED) and twenty paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD), and it remained steady against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
In today’s interbank currency market, it lost 16 paisas versus the Euro (EUR), 62 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD), and 92 paisas against the British Pound (GBP).
