Islamabad, 26 March 2025: Pakistan left-handed opening batter Saim Ayub has returned in Lahore after completing his rehabilitation in London.
The stylish batter fitness will now be assessed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) before the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 22-year-old cricketer sustained a right ankle fracture during the second Test against South Africa in early January, forcing him to miss an important season.

The injury occurred while he attempted to field a shot from Ryan Rickelton in the seventh over of South Africa’s first innings.
While trying to assist Aamer Jamal in stopping the ball near the boundary, Saim Ayub lost balance and fell backward.
Medical staff attended to him on the field, but he was unable to continue and had to be carried off.
Following medical evaluations, he was ruled out of cricket for ten weeks, missing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Undergoing rehabilitation in the UK, Saim received extensive treatment, with reports indicating steady progress.
With his return to Pakistan, a crucial fitness test at the NCA will determine his availability for PSL 10.
If cleared, he is expected to join Peshawar Zalmi for the tournament. Before that, he plans to travel to Karachi to celebrate Eid with his family.
