Islamabad, July 16, 2025: RB Salzburg claimed a 2–1 victory over Qarabag FK in a match held on July 15, 2025, at the Alois Latini Stadion in Zell am See, Austria.

The Austrian side took the lead in the 29th minute through Sota Kitano, who capitalized on a defensive breakdown to open the scoring. Qarabag responded before halftime, with Nariman Akhundzade scoring the comeback goal in the 42nd minute after a composed team move that exposed Salzburg’s back line.

The match was ultimately decided in the second half when Edmund Baidoo found the net in the 56th minute. His pivotal strike gave Salzburg the edge in a match that remained competitive until the final call. Both sides made multiple changes throughout the match, with Salzburg rotating heavily to test squad depth on top of the new season.
