Islamabad, 5 May, 2025: Samsung Alert has been issued by the tech community as Galaxy S23 users report battery problems after installing the new One UI 7 update, which is based on Android 15.
Although the update introduces new features and a redesigned layout, it has also triggered frustration among some users due to rapid battery drain.
User Concerns Grow Over Battery Drain
Since the rollout began, several Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra owners have turned to online platforms like Reddit and Samsung’s official forums to voice concerns.
A common complaint is significantly reduced battery life even during light usage, such as browsing or streaming.
The One UI 7 update, which includes advanced Galaxy AI features like Audio Eraser, was initially pulled back by Samsung due to early bugs.

After a short pause, the company resumed distribution. However, the rollout has continued to draw criticism from affected users.
One Reddit user noted that their Galaxy S23 now requires multiple charges per day, despite minimal usage. While some claim they’ve experienced improved battery performance, these cases remain in the minority.
Inconsistent User Feedback Sparks Debate
Not every Galaxy S23 user has reported negative experiences. A segment of the community has stated that the update did not affect their battery at all, and in rare cases, some observed better endurance than on One UI 6.
This variation has led to ongoing discussions about the possible root causes behind the inconsistent battery behavior.
Experts Point to Temporary System Reset
According to mobile analysts, such battery fluctuations often follow major Android updates due to the system resetting its background optimization processes.
The operating system needs time to analyze new usage patterns, app preferences, and screen-on habits to resume peak efficiency.
Tech site SamMobile suggested that this learning phase could last several days or even weeks. During this adjustment period, users might notice heating or faster battery drain both of which should subside once the system finishes calibrating.

Looking Ahead
While it remains unclear whether the Galaxy S23 lineup will regain its former battery efficiency soon, Samsung has not yet released an official fix or patch.
For now, users are encouraged to allow the system time to stabilize before drawing final conclusions.
This Samsung Alert is a reminder that even top-tier devices may face early hurdles after major software updates.
