Islamabad, Nov 14: Samsung Considers TSMC for Exynos Chip Production Amid Strategy Shift. A recent report suggests that Samsung may contract with TSMC to produce its Exynos chips due to yield issues. This possibility has been alluded to by a well-known leaker and a former Qualcomm employee who is currently an industry analyst.
Future Exynos models might be impacted by this possible change. Despite alleged production problems, the forthcoming Exynos 2500 is still on schedule. Competing CPUs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite are already produced by TSMC. It’s crucial to remember that Samsung would continue to create the Exynos chips. TSMC would only be in charge of manufacturing; the corporation would be in charge of research, development, and distribution.
A recent report has indicated that all Galaxy S25 variants will only have the Snapdragon 8 Elite, leaving the Exynos 2500’s future uncertain. However, we have Exynos variants of the S24 and S24+, while the S24 FE is only available in an Exynos 2400e model. We also heard these reports regarding the Galaxy S24.
Only the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variation, and the S25 series may follow suit, with Exynos variants for the basic models and Qualcomm-only support for the Ultra. We wouldn’t hold our breath, either, as decisions in the mobile business frequently shift from generation to generation.
