Islamabad, June 16, 2025: In Ml New York vs San Francisco Unicorns, San Francisco Unicorns chased down 183 with just three wickets in hand, riding on an explosive unbeaten knock of 59 off 25 balls by Xavier Bartlett, to hand MI New York yet another defeat in the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC).
Set a target of 183, the Unicorns found themselves in deep trouble at 108 for 6 in 12.2 overs, when Bartlett stepped in. With a modest T20 batting record — average of 14.10 and a strike rate barely above 108 — the odds were stacked against him. But Bartlett turned the match on its head, hammering four boundaries and five sixes against a bowling attack that included seasoned names like Trent Boult, Naveen-ul-Haq, Michael Bracewell, and Ehsan Adil.
The Unicorns’ top-order collapsed early, with Finn Allen, Fraser-McGurk, Krishnamurthi, and Cooper Connolly all departing inside the powerplay, leaving them tottering at 42 for 4.
