Islamabad, Aug 13, 2025: Celebrated folk and Sufi vocalist Sanam Marvi has spoken out against the relentless online trolling she endures whenever she undertakes spiritual journeys such as Umrah or visits sacred sites like Karbala.

The singer revealed that people often make sarcastic remarks linking her religious activities to her career in music. “Whenever I travel for Umrah or visit Karbala, some individuals question my intentions. They say things like, ‘Now you’re also performing Umrah?’ or comment upon my return, ‘You’ve just come from Karbala or Umrah, and now you’re singing again,’” she shared.

Highlighting that music is her profession and faith is her personal matter, Sanam Marvi emphasized that being a singer does not diminish her right to worship. “We, too, are human. We also feel the urge to visit holy places and seek spiritual peace. My profession shouldn’t be used to judge my devotion,” she asserted.

According to her, most of the negativity comes from social media critics who wrongly believe that music and religion cannot coexist. She urged people to show empathy and stop making hasty judgments about artists based solely on their profession. Sanam Marvi concluded by saying that faith is a deeply personal journey, and every believer should be respected for their choices.
