Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, known not only for her achievements on the court but also for her past marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, playfully mentioned on Indian television that she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of finding love again.
Scheduled to appear on The Great Indian Kapil show on Netflix, a teaser of Sania’s segment has been circulating online. In the upcoming episode, which focuses on Indian women athletes, Sania will be joined by former boxer Mary Kom and badminton player Saina Nehwal.
During the show, host Kapil reminded Sania of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s offer to portray her love interest on screen if the need ever arose. Sania responded with a quip, saying, “I have to find a love interest first!”
Having been part of one of the most talked-about cross-border couples of the 2000s, Sania’s personal life has often overshadowed her tennis career. Earlier this year, she confirmed her separation from her ex-husband after he surprised everyone with wedding photos with actor Sana Javed. Sania and Shoaib have a son together.
Despite the unwanted attention, especially after Shoaib’s unexpected wedding announcement, Sania maintains a positive social media presence. She often shares glimpses of her mental well-being on Instagram, although she keeps her personal life private.
Just a few days ago, Sania shared a contemplative photo of herself with the caption, “No matter what, you always have to show up,” reflecting the resilience of an athlete dedicated to discipline. Her fans flooded the comments section with messages of admiration and support. One fan even wrote, “You glow differently when you leave a toxic man,” showing solidarity with Sania.
