RIYADH – June 11, 2025: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a ban on outdoor work during midday hours for all private sector companies, effective from June 15 to September 15, 2025.

Under the regulation, outdoor work will be prohibited daily between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to protect workers from extreme heat exposure during the summer months.

The ministry stated that employers must ensure workers avoid direct exposure to the sun during the restricted hours. It also urged businesses to adjust working hours accordingly to reduce health risks and occupational injuries.

The new rule has been introduced in cooperation with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health and is part of broader efforts to promote a safe and healthy working environment across the Kingdom.

To assist companies with compliance, the ministry has published a procedural guide for preventing sun exposure and an advisory guide for working in high-temperature environments. Both resources are available on the ministry’s official website.

Citizens and workers can report violations via the ministry’s hotline (19911) or through its smartphone application.
