Saudi Arabia is preparing to unveil the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park as part of the Qiddiya entertainment and tourism megaproject in Riyadh, generating immense anticipation among fans of the iconic manga.
Qiddiya Investment Co., backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, recently revealed stunning 3D visuals of the theme park, sparking excitement across social media platforms. With 30 thrilling rides inspired by Goku and his companions, the Dragon Ball theme park is set to be a paradise for enthusiasts of the beloved manga and anime series.
The announcement of the Dragon Ball theme park comes shortly after the passing of Akira Toriyama, the visionary creator of the Dragon Ball universe. As the world mourned Toriyama’s death on March 1 at the age of 68, the unveiling of the theme park stands as a poignant tribute to his enduring legacy.
Situated in Qiddiya, the expansive entertainment project on the outskirts of Riyadh, the Dragon Ball theme park aims to bring Goku’s fantastical world to life in a captivating and immersive setting. Manga and anime have surged in popularity in Saudi Arabia, with an estimated 13 million enthusiasts in the kingdom alone and approximately 85 million across the broader Arab world.
Spanning over 500,000 square meters, the Dragon Ball theme park will feature seven meticulously crafted areas recreating iconic locations from the original series. With attractions such as Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’s Planet, the park is poised to rival renowned entertainment destinations like Disney World.
Among the park’s highlights are five state-of-the-art rides, forming part of a diverse lineup of over 30 attractions designed to appeal to visitors of all ages. Additionally, themed hotels and restaurants will offer an immersive experience beyond traditional theme park entertainment.
Originally serialized in 1984, Dragon Ball has become one of the most influential manga series worldwide. With the upcoming Dragon Ball theme park, Saudi Arabia is set to make a significant impact on the entertainment industry, honoring Toriyama’s visionary creation while captivating audiences with an unforgettable experience.
