Islamabad, May 26, 2025: Saudi Arabia has introduced its second artificial intelligence-based robot, named ‘Manara 2’, at the Grand Mosque in Makkah to answer religious queries from Muslims gathering to perform the Hajj rites.
Chief of the Presidency of Religious Affairs in the Two Holy Mosques, Abdulrahman Al Sudais officially inaugurated Manara 2.
The robot is designed to supports multiple languages as part of the kingdom’s efforts to embrace digital innovation and employ advanced technology to enhance the spiritual experience of pilgrims.

Manara 2 serves as a smart source of information, using artificial intelligence to deliver answers that are in line with Islamic Sharia teachings. It operates through a structured and verified database of religious rulings. In cases where answers are not readily available, the machine enables live video consultations with Islamic scholars, ensuring that each pilgrim receives correct and tailored guidance.

This launch follows the earlier success of the initial robot, ‘Manara’, which was introduced during Ramadan. Both machines feature designs that reflect traditional Islamic art, harmonizing with the majestic style of the Two Holy Mosques.
This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to blend heritage with technology, striving to better serve Muslims from around the world during one of the most significant acts of worship.
