Islamabad, 16 May, 2025: Hajj Health-tips kit has been introduced by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health as part of its pre-Hajj public health initiative aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims during the upcoming pilgrimage season.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the newly launched information package has been made available in eight major languages Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Persian, Indonesian, Malay, and Turkish.

This multilingual strategy is designed to engage a broad spectrum of pilgrims from across the globe.

Protecting Pilgrims from Heat and Illness

The Hajj Health-tips kit contains essential advice focused on preventing common health risks associated with the pilgrimage, particularly heat-related illnesses.

Pilgrims are urged to use umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun and to maintain proper hydration levels during their journey.

In addition to printed materials, the health pack includes educational videos, digital content for social media platforms, and downloadable leaflets making it both accessible and adaptable to different communication channels.

Vaccination and Medication Guidance

The Health Ministry has advised all pilgrims to update routine immunisations, depending on their country of residence.

These include vaccinations for meningococcal meningitis, COVID-19, yellow fever, and poliomyelitis. Additional vaccinations are encouraged for diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, measles, chickenpox, and mumps.

For individuals managing chronic medical conditions, the ministry recommends travelling with official medical records and keeping sufficient quantities of prescription medication in clearly labelled original packaging.
