The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it is now accepting applications for the first cohort of its Regulatory Sandbox, aimed at promoting innovation in the financial sector.
According to the SBP, the Regulatory Sandbox will allow applicants to test their innovative products, services, and related business models in a controlled environment under the supervision of the central bank.
The initiative is designed to encourage new ideas in key areas such as technology-driven solutions for upcoming financial needs, open banking, and digital onboarding of traders.
By offering this platform, SBP aims to facilitate startups, fintechs, and other innovators in experimenting with financial technologies while ensuring consumer protection and regulatory compliance.
