Islamabad, Feb 14: The Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has strongly condemned the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit medicines, emphasizing that those involved in such illegal activities are endangering human lives for financial gain.
In a statement issued on Saturday, SCCI President Muhammad Khalid Kakizai, along with Senior Vice President Ameet Kumar and other senior members, expressed their unwavering support for strict actions against individuals and businesses engaged in the production and distribution of fake medicines.
The Chamber reaffirmed its long-standing stance against unethical business practices that prioritize profits over public safety. It called for the full implementation of laws set by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to curb the menace of counterfeit drugs. The SCCI further stressed that immediate and decisive action must be taken to prevent such harmful practices from persisting.

Commending the efforts of law enforcement agencies, including the Deputy Commissioner of Sukkur, SSP Sukkur, Assistant Commissioner Sukkur, and the Drug Inspector, the Chamber acknowledged their role in identifying and taking action against counterfeit medicine manufacturers and sellers. The SCCI assured its full cooperation in assisting authorities to dismantle networks involved in this dangerous trade.
The statement also urged the government and regulatory bodies to intensify their vigilance and enforcement efforts to safeguard public health. The SCCI emphasized that strict penalties should be imposed on those found guilty of producing and distributing fake medicines to serve as a deterrent against future violations.
By standing firmly against counterfeit drug manufacturers, the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaffirmed its commitment to ethical business practices and public welfare, urging all stakeholders to collaborate in eradicating this serious threat to human health.
