The Schlumberger Foundation’s Faculty for the Future Fellowship is now open for applications for the 2026 academic year. This fully funded opportunity provides up to $50,000 annually to women from developing and emerging countries who are pursuing PhD or postdoctoral research in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields at top universities around the world.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2026 Schlumberger Faculty for the Future Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be female and a citizen of a developing or emerging country.
- Not hold dual citizenship with a developed country.
- Be pursuing or planning to pursue a PhD or postdoctoral degree in a STEM field.
- Already be enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a host university abroad.
- Hold a strong academic record.
- Be committed to returning to their home country after completion of studies to:
- Teach or conduct research in a STEM faculty, or
- Become a STEM entrepreneur addressing local challenges, or
- Contribute to public policy using STEM expertise.
- Have prior teaching experience and a record of community engagement.
- Be dedicated to promoting girls and women in STEM.
Fellowship Benefits
- PhD Candidates: Up to $50,000 USD/year
- Postdoctoral Researchers: Up to $40,000 USD/year
- Fellowship may be renewed annually until completion of studies.
- No IELTS required.
