Islamabad, Oct 14; SCO Summit Traffic Plans in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

SCO Summit Traffic Plans for Rawalpindi and Islamabad has been released by the twin cities administration in anticipation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, which takes place from October 14 to 16.

Several road closures and detours are part of the plan to guarantee efficient traffic movement during the well-known event.

The city will not permit any kind of heavy transportation between October 14 and October 16. More than 1,100 traffic cops will be on duty to supervise and help with traffic throughout this time.

Notably, there will be no traffic on the Expressway between Zero Point and Coral Chowk, thus drivers will need to use a number of alternate routes.

It is recommended that passengers heading towards Rawalpindi from Margalla Road choose Ninth Avenue. There will also be a diversion to Ninth Avenue for traffic coming from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point.

It is advised to take Covering Road, Banigala, and Lahtrar Road for traveling from Bhara Kahu to Rawalpindi.

Passengers are also advised to use Ninth Avenue when going from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

When approaching Faizabad from IJP Road, drivers should turn onto Stadium Road at the Ninth Avenue Signal.

It is advisable to use the Motorway from Taxila when going from Peshawar to Lahore due to heavy traffic.
