Islamabad, July 3, 2025: Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in jail after a judge refused to grant him bail. The decision came on Wednesday, July 2, after his high-profile federal trial. Combs was found guilty of prostitution-related charges but was cleared of more serious crimes.

Judge Arun Subramanian said Combs’ legal team could not prove that he was not a threat to others. The judge pointed to an alleged violent act by Combs in June 2024, even while he was already under investigation.

Combs’ lawyers had asked the court to release him on a $1 million bond. His mother, sister, and the mother of his oldest daughter were ready to co-sign the bond. They also said Combs would stay in only Florida, California, and New York, and would give up his passport. They also offered regular drug tests.

However, the judge rejected this request. Combs will now wait for his sentencing, which is set for October 3. He faces up to 20 years in prison for the two counts of transporting people for prostitution.

The jury cleared Combs of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, during the trial. His lawyers say the likely sentence is between 21 and 27 months. They also said Combs has already spent 10 months behind bars.

The trial included 29 days of testimony with 34 witnesses. Among them were celebrities like Kid Cudi and Dawn Richard. The key witnesses were Combs’ former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another woman known as “Jane.” Both women spoke about troubling sexual incidents involving Combs.

Though cleared of some charges, Combs still faces civil lawsuits. He has denied all claims against him. Many now wait to see what sentence the judge will hand down in October.
