ISLAMABAD JULY27: The number of businesses registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) increased to 222,697 during FY 2023–24 with the registration of 27,542 new firms.
39% of the firms were established as single-member entities, while 58% were registered as private limited corporations. The remaining three percent are limited liability partnerships (LLPs), foreign corporations, guarantee limited companies, not-for-profit groups, and public unlisted firms. Approximately 99.8% of businesses have online registrations.
Information technology (IT) accounted for 4129 companies, the largest number of incorporations (3666), followed by trading companies (3666), services (2992), real estate development and construction (2992), tourism (1346), education (1177), food and beverage (1103), e-commerce (942), corporate agricultural farming (780), marketing and advertisement (620), and textile (589).
