Islamabad, 12 May,2025: The Serie A title race has taken a dramatic turn as Napoli’s hopes of clinching the championship suffered a blow on Sunday after a 2-2 home draw against Genoa.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, kept their momentum alive with a vital 2-0 away win over Torino, cutting the gap at the top of the table to just a single point.
Napoli twice went ahead at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, with goals from Romelu Lukaku in the 15th minute and Giacomo Raspadori just after the hour mark.
However, Genoa, with little to play for this season, responded on both occasions.

A mishap by Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret led to an own goal in the 32nd minute, and Mexican defender Johan Vasquez levelled the score again in the 84th.
After the match, Napoli head coach Antonio Conte expressed disappointment with the result, noting that his side had dominated but failed to secure the win.
He reportedly said that while they performed well enough to deserve victory, football often defies expectations. Conte added that the team now has no margin for error in the remaining two matches.
Inter Milan, who played earlier in the day, battled through poor weather conditions in Turin to overcome Torino.

Nicola Zalewski scored early, and Kristjan Asllani doubled the lead from the penalty spot shortly after halftime.
The match had to be paused due to heavy rain, which extended the break between halves by 30 minutes. Despite the disruption, Inter stayed composed and secured the crucial three points.
With two rounds left in the season, Napoli sits at 78 points, narrowly ahead of Inter on 77. Napoli’s final fixtures are against Cagliari and an unnamed opponent, while Inter is set to face Como and one other side.
If both clubs end up level on points, Serie A rules stipulate a one-off playoff match—scheduled for May 25—to determine the champion.
