Islamabad, May 11, 2025: Heavy rain, hailstorms, and strong winds battered Islamabad on Sunday evening, causing widespread disruption to power supply, internet services, and road traffic.

Several areas in the federal capital were plunged into darkness for a short period after multiple power feeders tripped due to the storm.

Falling trees and iron sheets added to the damage, blocking roads and damaging property. Commuters faced long delays as traffic signals malfunctioned and water accumulated on several key routes.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay indoors during extreme weather and report emergencies to local helplines.

Meanwhile, Karachi experienced a blisteringly hot day, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting a maximum temperature of up to 36°C.

The city’s skies remained clear, allowing the scorching sun to create an oppressive atmosphere.

Residents of the metropolitan city felt some relief in the late hours as the temperature dropped to 30°C.

In the morning, it was predicted that westerly winds would sweep through the city at 15 kilometers per hour, while the humidity level remained high at 55%.
