Pakistan cricket legend Shahid Afridi has been unveiled as the latest addition to the prestigious lineup of Ambassadors for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Joining the illustrious ranks of Ambassadors for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 are iconic figures Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, and Usain Bolt, and now Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially revealed Afridi as the newest addition to this star-studded lineup for the highly anticipated tournament, set to take place in the USA and West Indies starting from 1st June.
Shahid Afridi, a veteran of six T20 World Cups and two-time captain, played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s 2009 victory earning the Player of the Match title in the final at Lord’s. He will be actively involved in various promotional activities leading up to the World Cup and will share his expert insights through guest columns during the event.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled from 1st to 29th June, kicking off with the USA facing Canada in the opening match at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. The inaugural match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on 3rd June will witness 2014 champions Sri Lanka taking on South Africa.
