Islamabad, July 8, 2025: Qatari mountaineer and royal family member Sheikha Asma Al Thani has made history by becoming the first Qatari woman to conquer Nanga Parbat, one of the world’s most dangerous peaks. Known as the “Killer Mountain,” Nanga Parbat rises over 8,100 meters and is notorious for its deadly terrain and extreme weather.

Despite the brutal conditions, including black ice and relentless rockfall, Sheikha Asma successfully reached the summit and proudly hoisted Qatar’s national flag. Sharing her emotional journey on Instagram, she wrote:

“Alhamdolillah, Nanga Parbat. My ninth 8000er and one of the toughest climbs I’ve faced. This mountain tested me in ways I didn’t expect.”

This milestone marks her ninth successful summit out of the world’s 14 highest peaks, solidifying her position among elite international mountaineers. Her achievement is not only a personal triumph but a powerful message of women empowerment, resilience, and courage in high-risk sports.
