Islamabad, Feb 7: At Port Qasim, a busy day unfolded on Thursday with five ships, including Nagoya Express, SSL Brahmaputra, ONE Reassurance, and GFS Ruby, all carrying containers, berthing at the Qasim International Container Terminal. Additionally, three other ships, MSC Positano, Bolan, and Woodside Charles Allen, arrived at the outer anchorage, bringing in containers, Mogas, and LNG respectively.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 13 ships were engaged at the port’s berths. Among them, Nagoya Express and SSL Brahmaputra departed on Friday morning, while five more ships GFS Ruby, ONE Reassurance, Nakhal Silver, Alaa, and Al-Areesh are expected to set sail later in the day.
During this period, the port handled a significant cargo volume of 172,825 tonnes. This consisted of 117,350 tonnes of import cargo and 55,475 tonnes of export cargo, all carried in 3,874 containers (2,448 TEUs for imports and 1,426 TEUs for exports).
Currently, there are 11 ships at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Of these, five ships MSC Positano, Saga, Bolan, EVA Diamond, and Woodside Charles Allen are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, FOTCO, EVTL, and EETL respectively on Friday. Additionally, another container ship, X-Press Kohima, is due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday.
