Islamabad, 21 April 2025: Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been reinstated in the BCCI central contracts list for the 2024–25 season after missing out in the previous cycle.
Their return marks a significant development in the board’s latest announcement, which continues to reflect the changing dynamics of Indian cricket.
The A+ category, BCCI’s top-tier bracket, remains unchanged and continues to feature Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Though Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja retired from T20 internationals after India’s T20 World Cup triumph in 2024, their status in the highest grade remains intact.

Veteran spinner R. Ashwin, who retired from international cricket last year, has been dropped.
Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A, moving up from Grade B.
This upgrade comes after his successful comeback in 2024, having recovered from a serious car accident in December 2022. Since returning, Pant has featured in ten Tests, one ODI, and ten T20Is.
Others in the A category include KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami.
Shreyas Iyer finds himself in Grade B, joining the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Iyer had previously lost his contract after missing domestic matches due to a back issue.

His resurgence across formats, including leading Kolkata Knight Riders to an IPL title and performing strongly in the Champions Trophy, helped him earn a spot again.
Ishan Kishan has been placed in Grade C. He had earlier faced criticism for skipping domestic duties but later rejoined Jharkhand during the 2024–25 season.
Grade C also includes newcomers like Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, and Harshit Rana.
Meanwhile, players such as Shardul Thakur, KS Bharat, Avesh Khan, and Jitesh Sharma have been omitted.
While the BCCI has not publicly shared salary figures, reports suggest players in Grade A+ earn INR 7 crore, Grade A INR 5 crore, Grade B INR 3 crore, and Grade C INR 1 crore.
