As the much-anticipated Asia Cup clash between Pakistan and India approached, Sikhs in Nankana Sahib gathered at the historic Gurdwara Janam Asthan to pray for Pakistan’s triumph. The community, deeply connected to both spirituality and national pride, offered heartfelt prayers, hoping to see Pakistan shine in the high-pressure match.
Men, women, and children participated in the special gathering, expressing how significant the Pakistan vs India encounter was for the entire nation. For them, a victory would not just be about cricket but also about lifting the country’s spirit and unity.
Speaking at the gurdwara, community leader Sardar Balwant Singh emphasized that the game could be more than a contest—it could spread harmony between the two neighbors. “If Pakistan wins, countless hearts will celebrate together,” he remarked, urging people on both sides of the border to embrace peace instead of rivalry.
The emotion was shared by others as well. Another devotee, Mandeep Kaur, voiced her excitement, saying the entire Sikh community was eager to celebrate Pakistan’s success. She added that the green team’s win would be a moment of collective joy.
