Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has promised to reimburse every family in the province that lost a loved one in a robbery while fighting back. The compensation amount is Rs1 million, Since January.
Speaking at the Sindh Assembly, Shah regretted not having visited the families of the victims sooner and mourned the terrible loss of 84 lives due to street crimes.He chastised the caretaker administration for interfering, stressing that their job is not to impede the work of elected officials. Shah brought attention to the federal government’s withholding of Rs76 billion and the K-4 project’s excessive allocation of Rs25–30 billion, in contrast to Sindh’s allocation of Rs3 billion for a Rs40 billion plan.
The news of compensation coincides with a rise in worries about the number of street crimes in the province, especially in Karachi. Murad Ali Shah also emphasized in his speech the Rs959 billion that the provincial government has set aside for the province’s development initiatives.”KP allocated Rs416 billion, Balochistan allocated Rs320 billion, Punjab allocated Rs842 billion, and Sindh allocated a substantial amount of Rs959 billion for development schemes,” he continued.
