Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Works and Services Department to restart construction work on the Ghotki–Kandhkot Bridge by November 2025, with the goal of completing the project by 2026.
The instructions were issued during a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House. The CM described the bridge, being constructed over the Indus River under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement, as a key infrastructure project that will link Ghotki and Kandhkot while enhancing connectivity between Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan.

According to project details, the total length of the bridge and its approach roads will be 12.15 km — including 10.40 km on the Ghotki side and 8.10 km on the Kandhkot side — while the Thal Link Road will stretch 4.55 km. Upon completion, the bridge will be one of the longest river bridges in Pakistan.
Shah urged all concerned departments to speed up implementation and maintain coordination to remove remaining bottlenecks and ensure timely completion.
