Islamabad, June 14, 2025: The Sindh government has proposed a reduction of up to Rs. 1,000 in taxes on commercial vehicles in fiscal budget 2025–26, according to official documents released Friday.
The proposal also aims to slash registration and transfer charges, bringing them down from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 500. This move is intended to ease costs for vehicle owners and encourage formal owners and encourage legal ownership transfers.

In terms of public transport, the Sindh government revealed a phased plan to introduce 1,000 electric buses throughout the province. In the initial phase, 500 e-buses will begin operating on the roads of Karachi within the year, with the goal of promoting eco-friendly and sustainable transport.
The government also plans to set up electric vehicle charging stations at public locations to support this initiative.
