Islamabad, 13 June 2025: Sindh Budget, in a significant announcement outlining Sindh’s financial direction for the upcoming fiscal year, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah revealed that the total budget outlay stands at Rs 3.45 trillion.

The budget reflects the government’s continued focus on social development, infrastructure, and inclusive public welfare initiatives.

Sindh Budget estimates allocate Rs 2.15 trillion toward non-development expenditures, covering key administrative and operational sectors. Meanwhile, Rs 1.018 trillion has been earmarked for development initiatives across the province.

The development portion aims to drive growth, upgrade basic services, and create sustainable job opportunities through infrastructural and community-focused projects.

Chief Minister Shah confirmed a 12% increase in education funding for the upcoming fiscal year. A total of Rs 523 billion has been allocated to support reforms in public education, upgrade facilities, and enhance teacher training initiatives across Sindh.

The move underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing a knowledge-driven economy by strengthening learning access in both urban and rural regions.

In a notable shift, the health sector budget has risen by 8%, climbing from Rs 302 billion to Rs 326 billion. This additional funding is expected to improve public hospitals, expand outreach programs, and enhance emergency response services across Sindh.

The budgetary uplift reflects a broader provincial strategy to deliver quality healthcare, especially in underserved areas.

In a forward-looking transport initiative, 1,000 electric buses will be introduced across several cities in Sindh, aiming to provide eco-friendly, affordable mobility to commuters. Out of these, 500 electric buses will be dedicated exclusively to Karachi.

This mass transit project aligns with Sindh’s green transport goals while addressing rising demand for clean, efficient public transport in urban zones.

The Sindh government plans to establish dedicated schools, rehabilitation centers, and an Inclusion City for children with special needs. This inclusive initiative is designed to empower differently-abled children with specialized learning environments and holistic support systems.

Recognizing the devastation caused by recent floods, the Chief Minister announced that the province will construct 800,000 new housing units for displaced families.

This large-scale rehabilitation program aims to restore dignity, stability, and long-term shelter security for those who lost their homes during natural disasters.
