The government stated that the procurement was approved under the current fiscal year’s budget and follows standard procedures. Officials emphasized that these vehicles are essential for ensuring the timely and effective performance of prosecution duties, especially in remote and urban areas.
However, the purchase has drawn some public criticism due to the economic situation in the country and repeated calls for austerity in government spending. Despite this, authorities defended the move, calling it a necessary step for improving the prosecution system’s efficiency and accessibility.
The Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department confirmed that all vehicles are officially in service and are intended solely for official fieldwork.
