Islamabad, Mar 7, 2025: The Sindh government has announced a five-year age relaxation for individuals applying for government positions, expanding employment opportunities across the province.
According to an official notification issued by the Chief Secretary, this policy will be effective from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. Under the revised rules, candidates can now apply for most government jobs until the age of 33, except for roles requiring the SCE qualification.
This decision comes in response to previous legal disputes over age restrictions in government recruitment.
The Supreme Court had earlier upheld a Sindh High Court ruling that nullified a 2020 notification permitting a 15-year age relaxation.

As a result, authorities reduced the maximum age limit to 28 years.
This new policy is expected to benefit thousands of job seekers who were previously ineligible due to age constraints.
However, authorities stress that all hiring processes will strictly follow a merit-based selection system.
By introducing this limited-age relaxation, the Sindh government aims to provide relief to job seekers while ensuring that recruitment policies remain in alignment with judicial directives.
