Islamabad, Jan 31: The Sindh government has officially declared a public holiday across the province on February 5, 2025, in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day. This decision aims to express unwavering support for the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department (SGA&CD), all government and semi-government offices, autonomous bodies, and educational institutions will remain closed on Wednesday, February 5. This move aligns with the national commitment to stand in solidarity with Kashmiris in their ongoing struggle for self-determination.

Why Is Kashmir Solidarity Day Observed?
Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed annually on February 5, serves as a symbol of Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people. The day is marked by rallies, speeches, and public gatherings, highlighting the plight of Kashmiris and condemning human rights violations in the region.
Various government institutions, political parties, and civil society groups organize events across Pakistan to raise awareness about the Kashmir dispute and demand a peaceful resolution in line with United Nations resolutions.
Nationwide Observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day
Sindh is not the only province observing this important day. The federal government, along with Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, is also expected to announce similar public holidays. In addition, a one-minute silence is traditionally observed across the country to honor the sacrifices of Kashmiris.
