Islamabad, July 2, 2025: The Sindh government has announced two public holidays in observance of Ashura on July 5 (Saturday) and July 6 (Sunday), 2025.

As per a official notification released by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department on July 1, the holidays will be applied to all provincial government departments, autonomous and semi-autonomous organizations, corporations, and local bodies functioning under the jurisdiction of the Sindh government. However, essential services will continue without interruption.

The announcement of Muharram public holidays was made by Sindh Chief Secretary, Asif Hyder Shah, and the notice has been forwarded to all concerned departments for enforcement.

Tight security measures and religious processions are expected across Sindh during the two-day period. Officials have appealed to citizens to observe the days with respect and coordinate with law enforcement to ensure public safety and order.
