Islamabad, Mar 2, 2025: The government of Sindh has made the decision to take firm action against businesses and merchants who charge clients for shopping bags with their logos printed on them. The ruling comes after a resident of Karachi filed a case against Bata Shoes Company after being charged Rs. 30 for a shopping bag.

A lawsuit was launched in the District Consumer Protection Court South after notices were sent to the company and no answer was received. According to Mir Shahnawaz, assistant director of the Bureau of Supply & Prices.
March 6 is the date of the hearing. The Bureau of Supply & Prices Sindh stepped in after the complaint was first posted on the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, Pakistan Citizen Portal.
