Islamabad, June 13, 2025: In a major policy shift, the Sindh education budget 2025 has been increased by 12%, bringing the total allocation to Rs523 billion, up from Rs458 billion in the previous fiscal year. The move signals a renewed focus on improving educational infrastructure, empowering school leadership, and enhancing access to quality education.
For the first time in the province’s history, financial powers will be delegated to the head teachers of over 34,000 government schools. This landmark decision is expected to accelerate localized problem-solving and improve resource management at the grassroots level.
The primary education budget has also seen a notable increase—from Rs136 billion to Rs156 billion—aimed at uplifting early learning standards across rural and urban Sindh.
In addition, the provincial government has earmarked Rs5 billion for college infrastructure development, ensuring better facilities and academic environments for students at the intermediate and degree levels.
Furthermore, another Rs5 billion has been allocated for international scholarships, allowing deserving students to pursue higher education at prestigious foreign universities, thereby strengthening Pakistan’s human capital.
Funding for public universities and autonomous educational institutions has also been enhanced. This year’s allocation rose to Rs42 billion, compared to Rs35 billion last year, benefiting 31 public universities and 9 independent bodies.
