The Sindh government has expanded its electric scooter training program for women to Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana after its successful run in Karachi. The move aims to promote women’s mobility and independence through sustainable transport options.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon, who said that the government is taking real steps to empower women by helping them move freely and safely.

The training program, organized in partnership with a private company, will teach women and female students how to ride and handle e-scooters confidently.

Participants who complete the course will also receive free driving licences, removing financial barriers for those who wish to travel independently.

During the meeting, officials also discussed other key transport projects. Memon confirmed that the Taj Haider Bridge, part of the Karachi Yellow Line BRT, has been completed and will open to the public soon.
